Essaouira as a Surf Destination
Essaouira sits on Morocco's Atlantic coast and is one of the country's most consistent surf locations. The beach stretches for several kilometres, and the Atlantic swells provide waves suitable for beginners learning the basics.
The town is also known for strong winds — particularly in the summer months — which makes it a renowned windsurfing and kitesurfing destination. For surfing, spring and autumn tend to offer more manageable conditions for those just starting out, though sessions run year-round.
