Getting to Diabat Stables
Our stables are located in the peaceful Berber village of Diabat, just 3 km south of Essaouira’s historic medina walls.
- By Petit Taxi: Catch a blue petit taxi from Bab Marrakech or Bab Sbaa. It takes 5 minutes and costs approximately 20–30 DH. Ask for Les Écuries de Diabat.
- Hotel Pickup: We can easily coordinate a local taxi pickup from your riad or hotel entrance upon request on WhatsApp.
- Free Parking: Driving yourself? Free, accessible parking is available directly outside the stables.
What to Wear & Equipment
You do not need specialized equestrian gear to enjoy riding in Essaouira. Simple, comfortable outdoor clothing is ideal.
- Helmets Provided: Clean, adjustable riding helmets are fitted for all riders at the stables before mounting.
- Clothing Advice: Wear long trousers (jeans or leggings) to prevent stirrup friction, and closed-toe shoes (sneakers or trainers).
- Atlantic Breeze Layer: Essaouira can be windy along the shore; bringing a light jacket or windbreaker is always recommended.
